HEEEELP! My Sink Stinks!!!!

Or, actually, more to the point, I think it's the garbage disposal. I don't know what's down there, but it's definitely dead and it's most certainly nasty! As we all know from my famous "sweepin's" posts, I'm not Earth's Greatest House Keeper, but this is really starting to bother me. What's a lazy domestic manager to do? Really, I'm asking you. What can be done to de-stink my sink?!

Oh, and, yes, I did try scouring it....

I've always heard pouring baking soda down into the disposal and letting it sit...not sure if it works!

Good luck!

Yes, it works! I pour it in wait a minute and turn on the disposal and it goes away!

I bought a disposal cleaner at Wal-Mart. It's a liquid you pour in and it suds up when you run the disposal. It has bleach in it and a citrus smell. Seems to work pretty well.

I've also run vinegar through before and have put orange peel or lemon peel in and run the disposal. All of those things seemed to work for me.

Hope that helps.

Cut up a lemon into quarters and put each piece in one at a time. Run the disposal, works every time!

Thanks gals! I've got baking soda sitting in there now and I have plans to pick up a lemon when I'm out this afternoon. Though, if I was giving prizes, Tarah's suggestion certainly wins! :)

Talk To Me

I blog for myself and my kids and I would do it even if no one else cared, but I do like to hear from you (and think it's a wee bit creepy of you to voyeurize us without my knowing it). So, please leave a comment from time to time, or email me anytime at xawilsons@hotmail.com. Much obliged, I'm sure.
