I just have to brag on my God one more time (actually, I'm pretty sure this won't be the last time!). Monday night was a very, very bad night. Before going to bed, I grabbed my bottle of "Simply Sleep" and swallowed the last two remaining pills.

Tuesday morning, I reminded myself 15 times to buy more before the evening. Around 11:30 AM, in the middle of the 16th mental note, I heard God saying, "Child, will you trust Me with your sleep?"

Now, I teach my children to obey, "Right Away, All the Way, and With a Happy Heart." Unfortunately, I'm not so good at it myself. My response was more like, "WHAT?! You want to take away my drugs NOW?!" I thought about how He was giving me strength and hope for the future and felt Him whisper, "If I can give you all that, can't I give you peace and rest too?"

"Alright. But I have to go out anyway tomorrow, so we'll just see how tonight goes, okay?"

Friends, and e-stalkers, He is patient beyond belief! More good and kind and generous than we know. I have not bought more sleeping pills. I have not even been tempted to. I've gone to bed at a reasonable hour every night this week, without a tumult of thoughts and idle-problem-solving assaulting me. I've slept through the night and woken at a reasonable hour in the morning. I haven't had nightmares (although I did dream about bridesmaid's dress shopping one night!) and haven't woken in the night.

When will I ever learn to respond to those quiet, gentle questions with a strong, loud, "Yes, Father!"?!
