Last week I received the following photo from a friend in the DC area.

It underscored the popularity of my “sweepins” posts and gave me a wonderful idea! I’m so pleased with your remarkable devotion that I’ve decided to hold a sweepstake! It’s easy to enter and easy to win. Here are the rules:
1. Original entries must include
(a) a photo of the sweepins to be entered with some tool for measuring the size of the pile,
(b) a description of the sweepins including how long since the last sweep, any extenuating circumstances (e.g., home remodeling project going on), and family composition (e.g., two adults, two preschoolers, three cats), and
(c) an email address where I can notify you if you win. Photos and descriptions will be published here, but email addresses will not.
Entries lacking anything in this list may be disqualified. Only one original entry is allowed per family.

2. Entries must be emailed to xawilsons at hotmail dot com and received by 10 PM Friday, February 27, 2009. Winner will be chosen at random on or before Monday, March 2, 2009.

3. Bonus entries may be obtained in any of the following ways (but no individual may receive a bonus entry without submitting an original entry):
(a) You will receive one bonus entry for each entry that names you as their source (e.g. “Rachel W told me about your contest”). You will only get credit, though, if your friend name you in zir entry.
(b) You will receive one bonus entry for providing a “Lazy Housekeeper’s Tip,” something to help your fellow lazy housekeeper's keep house.
(c) You will receive one bonus entry for submitting a mopwater photo with your sweepins photo. Only one mopwater entry is allowed per family.

4. Bonus entries give you another chance to win without submitting additional pictures (except in the case of 3b). There is no limit to how many bonus entries an individual may receive.

5. Prize: One grand prize winner will be selected at random from all the qualifying original and bonus entries. The winner will receive a $10 gift card to Panera Bread Company. If we get more than 100 entries (original + bonus combined), I'll up the amount to $15.

Just for fun, here's my sweepins of the day! This is about a week's accumulation for 2 adults, 2 preschoolers and no pets.And this is what it looked like under the table before I swept! Yum!
