The Five of Us, Spring 2014
Chicago Christmas
We were very happy to have the opportunity to travel north to visit with my family for Christmas this year. It took two (easy) days of driving--each way!--to get there and back, but it was well worth it. It snowed quite a bit and the kiddinkidinks were thrilled about it! (Don't know how we managed not to get any photos of them outside playing in it.) And, of course, we were all spoiled. Best of all, we got to spend lots of time with Grandma and Grandpa, my sister and her fiance, and my brother and his girlfriend. Oh, and Newton, my brother and his sweet's puppy!

Punk with his stocking (which he moved from the couch on the other side of the room so that he could be as close as possible to the massive pile of presents)
Grandma and Grandpa looking on as Pea opens her stocking gifts. Punk is thrilled to have his very own deck of UNO cards--which got a LOT of use over the next several days!
Pretty Fairy Princess Peapod!

Fairy Pea looks on as Uncle Matt tries to figure out the transforming robot-truck-rc dealio for his nephew. Meanwhile, Matt's girlfriend, Karrie, corrals their puppy, Newton.
Newton gives Pea some lovin' while Uncle Matt keeps working. Incidently, Newton is the best puppy I've ever met! He actually makes this pet-despiser sorta-kinda-a-little-bit want a dog like him!
Uncle Matt is still hard at work, but Punk has discovered that my new cookie sheet/jelly roll pan makes a great shield for his spaceship's missiles.

Punk received a whole bunch of dinosaurs. Happy Punk.

Grandma got Pea a raincoat--perfect for our wet weather here! She also received a pink, princess umbrella--not pictured, but much loved.
Punk got a wind-breaker/raincoat too. We're ready for spring!
Could she be any cuter? My sister made this wonderful hat for Pea. Wait til you see what's next...
Ta-da! Yep. My sister made both pieces!
She also made me a coordinating coat (my trim is more wine-colored, but the body is the same plaid), but we didn't get any good pictures of mine. :( I'll get some for you soon!
Hee hee! This is the toolchest we got my sister. We were joking about how there was more than enough room for Punk to get inside--apparently Newton thought it looked like fun!
