Pea's Wedding

Although Pea wasn't the bride, to us this past weekend was "Pea's Wedding." :) She did a great job and looked so beautiful. The tiniest flower girl and ring bearer were followed by the other four bigger flower girls (all adoptees, including Pea) shoulder to shoulder. They walked the aisle to this song. It was very beautiful and touching. It was so special to be a small part of our friend's big day.
It was also a treat to be among other Liberian kiddos and their parents. We even got to try "Americanized" Liberian food at the rehearsal dinner. Despite the wacky weather in Charlotte, it seems that everyone made it and everything went off without a hitch. Except that I forgot my camera! Ooops! So, I'm depending on other guests to post or send me their pics.
Here's one of Pea and me after the cermony. All these kids are adopted from Liberia! It was so cool to see them all! Up top behind the bride are Patty, the director of the adoption program and Sydnee who also worked in the orphanage while many of these kids were there. (Pea is all the way to the left below the teen girl with the white scarf.)

As more pics become available, I'll be sure to share!

Oh, and Pea's favorite part of the weekend? The pie she ate at the reception!!!

Talk To Me

I blog for myself and my kids and I would do it even if no one else cared, but I do like to hear from you (and think it's a wee bit creepy of you to voyeurize us without my knowing it). So, please leave a comment from time to time, or email me anytime at xawilsons@hotmail.com. Much obliged, I'm sure.
