I've got Oprah on in the background and they just showed a short clip of a super-cutie little AA boy singing. Punk said, "Aw! That's Pence!" Funny that I was just sitting down to update you on the latest strings of hope.


I just got an email from Donna with 9 new pics of the cutest nearly-4-yr-old I know and a bit of news from Patty. While in Liberia, Patty met a Dr. Sherman and told him about Pence's situation. Providentially, Dr. Sherman (1) is on the Board of Directors at Firestone Hospital and (2) agrees that a child cannot grow up in a hospital! He promised to take Pence's situation before the Board. Please join us in praying that Dr. Sherman would follow through and that he will be able to convince the Board to do something.


Also, the lawyer is pursuing the Ministry of Health avenue, but no news from there. Donna promised to ask about it for me. So, we can pray for headway there too.


Friends, these are difficult waters to navigate. It is so easy to become hopeless because every avenue we've tried before hasn't worked. But, on the other hand, I just want to throw all my eggs in Dr. Sherman's basket and believe that he will be able to make the difference. I have just come (again!) to the realization that my hope is not in these circumstances, but in the God who got us all into this in the first place! Obviously, God is still training me to trust him alone. So, y'all can pray for me to trust him first and only!
