The Five of Us, Spring 2014
Mouths of Babes
Having our niece (age 2) here last week provided extra opportunities for overhearing those too-cute things little ones say (and for breaking up fights, but I'll save that for another time). For instance, we had a running total of 4 generations here: Punk and Coral's (1st) great grandparents, (2nd) grandparents/great aunt, (3rd) parent(s)/aunt/uncle, and (4th) cousin(s). Did you follow that?
Coral lives with her mom, brother, and grandparents (for a few more days anyways) and so was trying to distinguish between that grandma and great grandma (whom we were all calling "Grandma" for simplicity). Finally, in a moment of minor frustration, she said, "Not YOU-Grandma! MORE-Grandma!" Pretty cute and insightful!
Punk's "phrase of the day" was less endearing, but right up his alley and therefore, awfully cute. He was wandering around with a scrunched up napkin. "Where's the crash can?!" :)
And, finally, for your viewing pleasure, here is the "fam" all cleaned up for the Sears portrait lady. In the back (L to R) we have Coral (age 2, Christina's girl), Christina (A's sissy), Auntie Joycie (Gayle's sissy), Great Grandpa Whitmer (Gayle's Dad), Gayle (A's mom), and Aaron. Next row is Rob (A's dad) and me. Front and center is More Grandma (Gayle's mom) holding baby Zane (age 3 mo, Christina's boy), and Punky (age 3).
I decided to throw in this one of Punk and Zane too. Punk just looks so handsome and we were all shocked to see how much the boys looked alike in this shot. They look more like brothers than cousins (but I really think it's just the picture).
