So, my e-friends and stalkers, I'm a little nervous about keeping healthy boundaries between my job with AOH and my personal thoughts, beliefs, experiences and opinions expressed here on the blog, since many of you "know" me through AOH. I'm kinda worried about continuing the blog at all and I'm considering how to handle my "open book" writing style from here on out. The thing is, I am not AOH and I don't speak for AOH on this blog, but I do serve AOH and represent the organization, even "off the clock." I know it's difficult to keep things separated that are so closely intertwined, but I need for you, my readership of 3, to help me out by recognizing and honoring the difference.

You can help me out by remembering every time you pop in here that this is my personal blog about my own family and experiences and that my adoption(s) do not represent what is typical or average or to be expected from AOH. I have chosen some very unique cases and no one should read this blog and think their experience will be anything like mine!

Also, please do not interpret my opinions or experiences as AOH policies. I started my adoption process through AOH with my application in April of 2006. A lot has changed in Liberia and for AOH during that time. Just because you read something here (in the archives or even in the future) does not mean it is AOH policy.

You can also respect the difference by contacting me through the office phone and email about your personal adoptions or with general adoption questions. I will not field questions about AOH specifically or generally here on my blog. I will only be putting up photos and information about my own sweet family, so please do not inquire about anything outside of those boundaries.

Also, the email in the sidebar is personal. I put it there because I want my blog to be a point of connection for friendship. I will not respond to AOH-specific emails that are sent to that address. In fact, I will delete them. Again, please use the office email and phone.

One last thing you can do to help me out here is to take me seriously when I repeat these thoughts in other posts. I can foresee myself restating, "This is not an AOH policy or belief" many times throughout the future of this blog. Please do not "blow me off" when I say that.
