The Five of Us, Spring 2014

The Five of Us, Spring 2014

Reporting From Africa

I can't stay long, but I get wanted to appease the masses by posting a little something. Unfortunately, what I have to say will probably just whet your appetite for more! Here are some highlights...
--touring the Mercy Ship, including the hospital part where guests usually aren't allowed to go
--getting to the middle of a certain road with 3 cars ahead of us, and 15 behind us and being told to turn around and go back because they were digging a huge hole in the road
--meeting all the office staff (if there had been a quiz about who was who and what they do, I'd have failed!)
--touring Rock Hill (see Donna's or Jocelyn's blogs) with the Deputy Minister of Education
--delivering shunts to a gorgeous 3 mo old baby with a huge swelling (a little bigger than his head) on the back of his neck
--visiting the big kids orphanage and having them sing to us and recite verses--they were so cute!
--visiting the baby orphanage, spotting Pea in the singing masses, visiting with all the babies who couldn't come out of their beds to sing, and spent some time with Pea (I'll post pictures later--Patty took them on her camera because ours was dead). I'll tell you more about her later.

We're still waiting to see Pence and speak to his aunt, so keep praying for that. Thanks so much for praying (and letting me know you're praying!).

Hi Rachel,
You are right. This has just whet my appetite for more! But I'm so glad that you had an opportunity to post. Thank you for remembering us "hungry for info" families back home.
I'm so sorry that I missed being able to say goodbye to you before you left. I regret it so much. I pray that this trip will be blessed and that you will see progress in getting Spencer released.
Please give Benjamin (Benedict Aquai) some love for me. I've been really longing for him today. I'm so glad you were able to spend some time with Siah. Can't wait to hear about it. You are on my prayer list.

Love,
Becky Avella

Talk To Me

I blog for myself and my kids and I would do it even if no one else cared, but I do like to hear from you (and think it's a wee bit creepy of you to voyeurize us without my knowing it). So, please leave a comment from time to time, or email me anytime at xawilsons@hotmail.com. Much obliged, I'm sure.
