The Five of Us, Spring 2014
Scrapping--The Caves
Two Saturdays ago the weather was scrumptuosly warm (ie-above freezing, but just barely) and sunny, so we traipsed over to the "Sea Caves" on the shore of Lake Superior (us and a whole bunch of other people!). It was a lot of fun. Aaron strapped Pea into the backpack and Punk rode in the sled I tugged along.
Here's Pea at the beginning--all bundled up. She looked so funny when she walked! I love the expression in her eyes in the second photo--"are we really doing this, guys?!"It was a bit of a hike from the parking lot to the caves. On the way out there, we passed this little tunnel through the snow. Punk was so excited to get in it and play around! It was all icy at the bottom though and he kept sliding and falling down. What is it about kids that they don't mind crashing to their bums?!
And this is why people come in droves. Isn't it gorgeous? As is typical, it's much more stunning in person. Look how the light is struggling to come through the ice in the center under the rocks. Beautiful.Punk was interested in this little cave, but too scared to go in by himself. So, mama crept in with him. It was kinda cool. I found out later he was afraid there might be bears sleeping in the cave! He knows too much!I love this photo of me and my boy! He's a bit washed out, but we both look so happy to be together!
