Church Search: Episode 2

Since a few of you have asked, I'll tell you that Episode 2 of the Church Search was kinda banal. Nothing much to report. The kids had a good time in their class again, which we're very glad for. The message this time was on giving, so it was interesting to peek into the pastor's heart on this touchy subject. He took a few things out of context as far as I am concerned, but I think this is the common interpretation of these passages, so I don't fault him overly much. Life groups and women's ministry are on hold for the summer, but will be starting up again in a few weeks. Men's ministry has a meeting Monday night, so A's considering checking it out.

Dear friends of ours back in Boise reminded us that what we really need to know is the heart of the pastor and whether it's being replicated in the folks. While the sermons are certainly glimpses of the heart, we're looking forward to the New Comers' Lunch to see deeper. If that doesn't do the trick, I hope our home is in a decent state by then and we can have them for dinner. If not, a restaurant will certainly do. Also, one gal did give me her phone number, so I'll have to arrange to meet her at Chick-Fil-A (why on EARTH don't they have these in the North and West! It's our favorite thing about W'ton so far!) for a chat. Goodness knows I need a girlfriend and it'll be interesting to get her perspective on the church and city too.

In sum, so far so good, but we're still holding back until we get deeper. Thanks for asking!

Talk To Me

I blog for myself and my kids and I would do it even if no one else cared, but I do like to hear from you (and think it's a wee bit creepy of you to voyeurize us without my knowing it). So, please leave a comment from time to time, or email me anytime at xawilsons@hotmail.com. Much obliged, I'm sure.
