The Adventures of Punk and Pickles

Let me introduce you to our house guest for the weekend. His name is Pickles and he is a farm dog. He belongs to Punk's preschool class and each weekend he goes home with a different student. We have been anticipating Pickle's visit for a long time, but it was a big surprise when Punk ran out of his room on Friday clutching the big dog to his heart! I wish I would have known and could have had the camera ready.

Part of the joy of having Pickles for the weekend is taking lots of pictures to include in his diary. The diary entry is much shorter than this blog entry! Enjoy!

We went out to Macaroni Grille Friday night. Punk was so proud of Pickles. He flirted with the girl at the next table and told her about him! Here they are pretending to sleep. :)

We staged this shot to look like Punk was sharing his ice cream with Pickles.

Saturday morning when they woke up, Punk wanted to play with his cars. For some reason, he likes to line them all out like this. Maybe because it shows off the vast number of cars to the best advantage?

Saturday afternoon I whipped up some sugar cookie dough. The kiddinkidinks helped me measure and then cut out the leaf and acorn shapes. Of course, I let them lick the frosting from the tools!

Then Punk and Pea did all the decorating! What a mess! But, lots of fun.

They looked great and tasted even better! Punk had to count all the cookies. Then we delivered them to our neighbors. One woman was so surprised she almost seemed skeptical. Don't people do this any more?

Then, this afternoon, we went to the pumpkin patch on the corner (I soooooo wanted to go to the farm, but it rained both of the last two Saturdays--pout, pout). The kids didn't know the difference, though. They had a lot of fun, and we had to get a pumpkin for Pickles too.

Punk hardly wanted to wait to eat dinner before carving his pumpkin! Pea really enjoyed the feeling of the "guts" squishing between her fingers!

Punk instructed A with the shapes for each part of the face. Luckily, he knew what Pickles would like! Pea... just wanted a face!
