The Five of Us, Spring 2014
Floor to Ceiling
Upon the advice of some handymen/flooring guys that we had consulted about installing the rest of our laminate flooring on our behalf (too spendy; did it ourselves), Aaron decided to fabricate all the flooring transitions (like from the cork kitchen to the laminate; from the laminate to the carpet in the bedrooms, etc.) himself. He used some maple that he already had and stained it to match the laminate. He got them installed a couple of days ago and they look awesome. I can't believe how well the stain matches. He's good!
Tuesday I had a dentist appointment (routine cleaning) and due to my lack of planning, I had to take the kids with me. They were well-behaved enough to earn a "prize." When we were there a month ago for their cleanings, Punk chose a magna-doodle thingy. When Pea began digging she found some "stratchy" animals. Punk was enthralled. Unfortunately, he had already taken his prize out of the packaging, so he couldn't trade. Well, he certainly knew what he wanted on Tuesday! He picked "stratchy" snakes and Pea chose "stratchy" caterpillars. Not long after we got home, Punk discovered that his snakes not only stretch, but also stick. To walls. And that led to this:
Since you all know there is not a white wall in my house... Yes, he threw all the caterpillars up on the ceiling! Worried that Pea would be upset that all of her "stratchy animals" were on the ceiling while his were not, I tricked Punk into throwing his snakes up there too. The caterpillars went one by one. The snakes en masse.
So, this is the current state of my great room ceiling! Pretty, huh?! :)

Talk To Me
I blog for myself and my kids and I would do it even if no one else cared, but I do like to hear from you (and think it's a wee bit creepy of you to voyeurize us without my knowing it). So, please leave a comment from time to time, or email me anytime at xawilsons@hotmail.com. Much obliged, I'm sure.
