The Five of Us, Spring 2014

There and Back Again

Well, actually I haven't really gone anywhere far away, but I've had a few adventures these last few silent weeks that kept me busy and away from ye olde blog. The most significant is that Aaron's parents (Papa and GG--which stands for Grandma Gayle) arrived Nov 20 and departed yesterday. Having just 2 more people around makes a big difference! It was a great opportunity to get out and see our new town and we even found a new favorite Mexican restaurant (but it may not be worth the 45 minute drive!).

Early one morning, there was a ring at the doorbell. We scampered to the door and found a box. It was addressed to Punk and Pea from my sister's fiance. It was small but heavy. Punk recognized their names on the label and they jumped around while I opened it. Inside was the hugest chocolate bar EVER! Ten pounds of pure chocolate bar! Needless to say, the children went bonkers! Punk grabbed a large chunk that had bro ken off in the shipping and attacked it. Pea picked tiny shards and finally a small chunk. We later found out that future-uncle-Joe felt so sorry that the kiddinkidinks didn't get to go trick-or-treating because of the pox that he felt he had to do something! :) I think we're stocked for chocolate at least until Christmas!

We spent Black Friday on the beach flying a kite and building sand castles. Punk and Pea and GG even got their feet wet in the ocean! Yipes it was cold!

Even though it rained for the rest of the weekend, we went out to buy a tree (yes, in the rain). We had to make up for the ghastly fake-o we bought last year. I'm very pleased with our gorgeous specimen.

The kids had fun decorating too!
