The Five of Us, Spring 2014
Catching Up From Christmas
Whew! Even though this Christmas was relaxed because we had no one to entertain and no where to be, it was still full and fun!
I did manage to finish Pea's stocking. Even though I ran out of pink/lavendar sequins, clear seed beads, and then gold sequins! I've never had that happen before! Anyway, I finished it at 11:30 Christmas Eve. Just in the nick of time.
The fix-it man came on Christmas Eve too. No new oven for mama, but I did get a brand new heating element!
Here are some highlights from our Christmas morning. Bear in mind, we practice "ugly Christmas" in my family. Which means you come as you are, straight from bed. No comb may touch your hair, no makeup, no toothbrush, no nothing. And, Tarah, that cap Pea's wearing protects her hair from tangles (if free) or "fraying" (if styled) while she sleeps and/or plays.
Here she is admiring the butterfly printed on these pants.
My brother got both kids sidewalk chalk. Considering it was 80 degrees this weekend, it was a great choice! This is Pea's favorite gift. Well, the purple ones are. Truly, she couldn't wait to get off her socks from the night before. She wore them the rest of the day and then when I asked her what her favorite thing was, she didn't even have to think: "The pupple socks!"Here she is with the socks again. Notice the gift we thought would be the favorite in the background!Punk receiving a Thomas movie.Pea loves that her new Minnie Mouse is bigger than Punk's Bear.Punk with his very own soccer ball. No more sharing--double trouble for the goalie! My brother sent this too. The kiddinkidinks have been busily making monsters with it for days.
Here's what I look like when I roll out of bed at 6:30 AM on Christmas morning!
My sis and her fiance sent a gift card. I bought a new table cloth and napkins. I've had this vision since we moved in and just never was able to actualize it. Now, tada! That's an elephant napkin ring from Liberia. I have 4 elephants and 4 hippos. And, here's the table all set. Perfect!
