Swimmin'!

For the past two weeks, the kids have been taking swim lessons at the Y. It has been a lot of fun! They are both still at Level 1, but have made tremendous progress during their lessons.

Punk is not afraid of the water (which is kind of scary to his mama, actually!). He'll take several strokes with his face in the water, but then pops up totally upright to take a breath! He loves to play games in the water, like springing up from the pool floor (in water about a foot over his head) and pretending to be various sea creatures. He also loves to make the biggest splashes ever!Pea was very afraid at the beginning of lessons. She wanted to wrap her arms and legs around the instructor (or Dadders or me when we swam with her). And she definitely didn't want to float on her back. In fact, when Miss Katie tried to flip her over, both her legs, both her arms and her head shot straight up out of the water! But, by the end of the two weeks, she was swimming with just one hand around just one of Miss Katie's fingers. She puts her face in the water for a few seconds and is even willing to go all the way under. She also likes to pretend to be a sea creature and now likes to jump into the pool.

Yay for the Y's swim lessons! We can't wait to show Dadders all they learned!

(Sorry for the poor picture quality--all I had was my phone's camera)

Talk To Me

I blog for myself and my kids and I would do it even if no one else cared, but I do like to hear from you (and think it's a wee bit creepy of you to voyeurize us without my knowing it). So, please leave a comment from time to time, or email me anytime at xawilsons@hotmail.com. Much obliged, I'm sure.
