The Five of Us, Spring 2014

Shop-lifter in the Making

So, Punk has been PLEADING to visit the toy store lately. Aaron took him on Thursday night while I was at sorority stuff. They toured the whole place, with special attention to trucks and diggers (do all boys LOVE that stuff?!). After especially admiring a small Bob-the-Builder toy, and with an employee standing 3 feet away, my charming son tells Aaron: "Daddy, pu'-i'-in your pocket." Nice.

Some other Punkerisms I've noticed lately...
schweater = sweater
hospitable = hospital
ambliance = ambulance (same as my brother used to say)

And, when I told him we were going to buy Mama some eye cream, he was thrilled. Later I figured out he thought I said ice cream. (Yeah, I know, it didn't take YOU that long to figure it out!)

One of my favorite things about his "conversation" right now is that it often takes list form. Verbs are often conspicuously missing. For example: "Ah, ah, ah, Roley and Scoop and Bob and and and Wofty (translation: Lofty) and and and da bulldozer..." (for the son-less, these are Bob-the-Builder characters) or "First gyn class (translation: gymnastics class) den lunch den nap den Bob and play drums." These are usually recited as though he's reading a mental list. It's too cute!

Who says 2 is terrible?! I like it! :)

Talk To Me

I blog for myself and my kids and I would do it even if no one else cared, but I do like to hear from you (and think it's a wee bit creepy of you to voyeurize us without my knowing it). So, please leave a comment from time to time, or email me anytime at xawilsons@hotmail.com. Much obliged, I'm sure.
