Each night we all gang up on one of the kiddinkindink's beds (I wonder how long they'll be able to withstand this 400-lb-and-growing abuse?) for family prayers. Each of us gets a turn. Right now prayers are pretty limited to thanksgiving and asking for things, but soon we'll introduce confession and praise. Pea's conversation seems to be her area of growth right now and her prayer life is surely improving from a short repetition of Punk's themes to her own ideas from her own heart. It's precious to see the progress.

Punk's prayers are evolving too. As in the rest of life he is both pedantic and expressive and we often have to supress our giggles. His prayer last night went something like this:

"Lorrrrd, thank you for Mommy and Daddy and Pea. Thank you for Mommy for my mommy, Daddy for my daddy and Pea for my sister. Thank you for this world and for the rain to make the trees and plants grow. And, I want to ask you for something. Lorrrrrd, we pray for a new baby for our family. And pray that it's a boy. A boy who is good at rough-housing. A boy who can win against Daddy."
