Stair Saga, Fourth and Final Installment
For previous Stair Saga posts, click here.
I spent this morning putting up the wallpaper on the stairs. It was very, very easy. I used my rotary cutting tools (for quilting) to cut the wallpaper and it went very smoothly. After that, it was a piece of cake! If you like this idea and have a "naked" staircase in your home, I highly recommend trying it. You do want to get a non-directional pattern so you can cut it so that you don't have to match seams. But picking the wallpaper is probably the hardest part!
NOTE on the first two photos: The enormity of my bum is clearly a defect of the camera angle, NOT of my actual anatomy. Please assume a reduction of about 50%... and that the camera man will be punished for his grave error.
Curling of the toes aids in concentration nearly as much as sticking out the tongue. Keep this in mind for your next project. The metallic "beads" (2 dimensional) which outline the white swirlies played tricks with the camera flash. That's why the pattern looks different in different areas. It's really quite uniform. The pattern looks a little more even from this angle.Aaron helped me "cope" the edges of the bottom step to match the trim. He did a great job! Actually, this may be the hardest part of the project--but I didn't have to do it! :)So, there you have it. Another project done and another reason to feel proud of us!

Talk To Me
I blog for myself and my kids and I would do it even if no one else cared, but I do like to hear from you (and think it's a wee bit creepy of you to voyeurize us without my knowing it). So, please leave a comment from time to time, or email me anytime at xawilsons@hotmail.com. Much obliged, I'm sure.

Lovely! That's such a creative idea!
Rachel, you did a fabulous job and gave me a very neat idea for decorating our staircase when we build our "big" house. I love the paper you chose too! And don't worry about your bum, I wouldn't have thought you are any less beautiful if I would actually have been looking at your bum and not at the stairs! ;)
Oh, Rachel! That is absolutely gorgeous!!! Well done!
Kerry
Beautiful! I love this idea! (We are mutual friends of Tarah- not a stalker I promise!) ;P
