The Five of Us, Spring 2014

Disloyal (and a Round Two Update)

Oh, my dear faithful blog readers. I have a confession to make. I've been cheating on you. With Facebook. It's so much easier. So much quicker. I can easily just throw one random thought (and I have a ton of them!) at it and it doesn't beg for more. Not that you beg. No, you've never been overly demanding or anything like that. You've taken good care of me. Which only adds to my guilt. But, I can't exactly ask for forgiveness or even say that I'm sorry. Because both of those imply that I will change my ways. Which I won't. Sigh. So, that sort of leaves us at an impasse. But, know this--when I do have something that will take more than three sentences to say, I'll return to you, my faithful blog readers. So, (dare I ask it?) hang in there with me and I'll throw you a bone from time to time.

Like this one. WE'RE ON THE LIST!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, look! That only took one sentence!

Yes, we're on the list of potential adoptive families. I created a 13-page, scrapbook-like introduction of our family which will now be shown to birthmothers (and possibly other family members) throughout the state of Georgia (USA) who are at least 7 months along in their pregnancies. Pretty much everything from here on out is something of a mystery. There's no way to predict the timeline (other than the fact that, at most, there will be 2 months between mom choosing us and delivery!) and most of the other things I want to know depend a lot on mom and her situation and her decisions. So, we wait, but this is an exciting wait. A wait full of possibilities. A wait full of jumping every time the phone rings. A wait that will end in a scramble! A wait that will end in a baby!!! :)

Talk To Me

I blog for myself and my kids and I would do it even if no one else cared, but I do like to hear from you (and think it's a wee bit creepy of you to voyeurize us without my knowing it). So, please leave a comment from time to time, or email me anytime at Much obliged, I'm sure.
